Tranquil wilderness waters. Pine studded woods. Cold snowy days. Black starlit nights.

Welcome, friend, to my studio.

I’m Scott Niska – outdoor photographer, videographer, and entrepreneur. A Midwest native, my wife and I moved our family to Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula in 2011 seeking a place where all of us could step back and immerse ourselves in the wonder and beauty that is Mother Nature. Now, raising a family of seven children in a place that we love to live, I must say that it has been a remarkable and eye-opening adventure.

First and foremost a family man, I’m also an avid outdoorsman and no stranger to hard work. My parents were self-employed – firm, but fair – and taught the value and personal satisfaction of a job well done, be that making firewood, tending to the garden, or carving a homestead out of the rural landscape. From them, my siblings and I learned a work ethic that I believe is second to none.

Today, that work ethic burns brighter than ever. Nine years after starting and building a successful marketing agency, I realized my place is behind the camera rather than behind a desk. To that end, I stepped from the corporate world to partner with and work alongside many of the nation’s top fishing, hunting, and outdoor brands, companies that see and understand the value in combining forces with an individual such as myself – someone who not only communicates the outdoors visually, but lives it on a day-to-day basis.

I’d like to think I’m well-versed – well-rounded, perhaps, is more a more accurate term – in the whole of the outdoors; however, my specialties, my focus, per se, include hunting, fishing, kayaking and canoeing, camping, mountain biking, power sports, and anything to do with hobby farming.
Whether I am shooting on my 200-acre farm-turned-studio or on sight with you or your brand ambassadors, my goal, my objective, my passion, is to present to your clients your vision through my lens. Together, and thanks in large part of Mother Nature, we can accomplish this.
